Bass on a flyrod

I had an awesome time last weekend catching largemouth on fly gear. I tied up a bunch of cork poppers with yellow hackle, floss bodies, and big maribou tails. If I didn't get a fish after the first few strips, I would just drift the popper with the boat and within 30 seconds a fish would pound it. After the wind picked up, I threw on a spinnerbait with the good ole baitcaster and slammed some more. It was a blast. I highly reccomend it.

Sounds like a great time! I love when these largemouths strike hard! Spinners and top water poppers work great for me in the summertime. We have had a tremendous problem with weeds in our waterways here in AZ. Have to use a weedless hook and lose a few when trying to set the hook.
