Clear lake WA, near MT Vernon

I'm headed up to the seattle area next week for a wedding and silver fishing. I will also spend a week in MT Vernon with family. They live near clear lake and said that there were bass in there but didn't know what kind or if the fishing is good. Does anyone know the area/lake or have any other fishing suggestions in the Skagit valley for mid-July??? Thanks

I used to live in Mount vernon and fished Clear lake and Big lake alot. We did pretty good on bass in both, just took a little time to find them. Good luck
