I know you get what you pay for but I'm looking for a decent fish finder for under $300. It's going on an aluminum fishing boat. I just need it to find fish in small mountain lakes. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.

GO to Cabelas.com look up the humminbird 565
this is a great finder for around $200.00.
This is the one I use for salmon and steelhead,and for
lakes.

Where do you live? I have a brand new Eagle Sea Charter that has DF capability and mapping sonar/ fish finder. New it was $575.00, I would sell for $280.00. It is immaculate, I just want to upgrade to a larger screen for my 20' jet. The screen is 5".

I just saw your post. We are trading our boat in for a bigger one. I'll let you know how the deal pan's out, I still might be selling the fishfinder -I'll let you know.
