i,ve never been on this subject on this website. never knew it existed, probably couldn't get past the big game stuff. Chukar is my second love when I don't have a tag. How did everyone do in 05/06? I know the hatch was excellent just about everywhere. How about some totals. Isn't the current weather pattern perfect for another great hatch if the moisture holds through May? It'll probably be my dogs last productive season so I'm looking forward in anticipation.

Never hunted chukar but love to go quail/pheasant/dove hunting. Was up around Kennedy meadows last year and saw chukar all the way up the mountain. Think I will try them out this year, I love to bird hunt don't know why it has taken me so long to get on board with these birds. It should be another great year.

Chucker hunting here in Ut. was decent this year, don't know my total of birds, got limits a few times and always got a few each trip. I think this year was my dogs last Chuckar season.

Last year was great here in Oregon, down in th SE corner was good and the Snake River was unreal. I had a limit every day I hunted pretty easy, '06 should be good if we don't get to much rain for a while, the cover will do ok without it and all rain will do now is kill chicks, if the draws don't treat me better than they have so far chuckar might be all I get to hunt.

YEAH I LOOK FOR ANOTHER GREAT YEAR IN THE OREGON BROWNLEE-OWYHEE AREA TOO. I LIVE IN IDAHO, BUT HAVE HUNTED IN OREGON FOR 25-YEARS, THE PHEASANT QUAIL AND CHUKAR HUNTING IS SOO MUCH BETTER. ELK HUNTING IS MY FIRST LOVE, BUT AFTER THAT IT'S UPLAND, AND THEN WATERFOWL.THERE JUST IS'NT ENOUGH TIME EVEN THOUGH I'M NOW RETIRED!! HAVE A GREAT YEAR...

I'm always looking across Brownlee at the Idaho side and it looks great, why isn't it as good or better than the OR. side? with the poor road system over there I thought it would keep the hunters away and it would be great. just wondering, I was thinking about trying it.

actually it is just as good as the oregon side, but it is one of the few places in my opinion that does have alot of birds. you really need a good boat to go up the lake 15 miles or so from farewell bend to get away from the crowd. what i meant was there are so many more places to hunt in oregon. the vale area has alot more pheasants than idaho, mainly because of the natural habitat. the Baker to Brownlee is also great for pheasants, quail, and chukar. juntura is another great chukar area, i guess more and more people from idaho have discovered it as well, as i see almost as many idahoans as oregonians. looking forward to another excellant year in both states for elk and birds, maybe we can hook-up sometime. good hunting....
