I'm looking into getting a over/under for upland and waterfowl, but probably mostly for a hand down to the grandkids later.

was trying to decide between a Ruger Red Lable, Browning Citori 525 field,or a Fachi(sp).

Was wanting to stay in the $16000-$2000 range.

Would appreciate any advise from you upland guys...

Thanks in advance

Nate

I like the Rizzini real well and for that money you can get a nice Beretta. O/U shotguns are like shoes you need to try them on that's why I like the Rizzini so well they have a good amount of cast to them. the mid to upper grade Beretta's fit nice and have great resale value so you can't go wrong there. the Franchi looks like a nice gun and they're owned by Beretta but the resale is pretty bad. I don't care much for the Browning or Ruger because of the bulk and wieght but that's just me. if you haven't done it yet look on gunsamerica.com you can find anything there.

Fer what it's worth...
I shoot Sporting Clays with a Ruger Red Label/Sporting.
We shoot legues every week through the summer, I've put ALOT of rounds through that gun, not one problem.
IMHO, THE best gun for the money.
The big bonus is... it's an American gun!

Franchi has been around a long time but I'm not real fond of their alloy reciever. That 525 browning sure does fit me nicley and I have owned and own several browning s as well as Berettas and Rugers.

The Ruger in my estimation is the most rugged all around and certainly would be one that can be handed down. Downside if any is that it is heavy.

The 525 is actually a citori which has been around for years and parts should never be a problem but Brownings have been known to need servicing through the years.

Berretta has been around longer than any. I have a 682 that is as rugged as can be I could not even tell you how many rounds I have fired through it over the last thirteen years and it still works like new.

The Rizzinni that was mentioned I have looked at and are fine guns but I have no experience with.

The 525 is a citori
