Quad for chukar hunting

Looking for a quad for chukar hunting. Something to put a dog kennel on the back, unload at the end of the pavement and go. May use to to scout big game some but primarily for chukar hunting. What do you recommend? Size, brand, etc.

Tired of beating up the truck.

I hunt most of my big game off horses so i won't be using it for much else.

if you are going to pull a dog trailer get a 400 or bigger, water cooled preferebly, i pull a trailer i made that will hold two kennels and a cooler, and i use a 350 rancher. it does the job but i wouldn't mind more moter! that rancher is an 01 with over 10,000 miles, all i've done is kept the oil canged and some new tires a few times. gotta love the honda's!

I would say a Honda Rancher 350cc, but if you want more power buy a Honda Rubicon 500cc or a Honda Rincon 700cc

I know the polaris got pretty beat up in the other thread but for your use I would get a polaris sportsman 6x6. Plenty of room in the bed for your dog kennel and the smoothest ride out there. Plenty of power. They appear really big and they are but are really a pleasure to drive, are unstoppable, and carry a huge load. Unless you are a really small guy you will like it alot.

Friend has a 500 Artic Cat I'm gonna ride next week. Any imput on this one. Really only plan on strapping the dog kennel on the back and going a few miles in the rough stuff.

Another friend has a 2 quad trailer for sale too. Anything special I should look for in a trailer. He has 2 big hondas that he's used the trailer for so I guess it'll handle one quad fine.

How much are you looking to spend?

Have you considered a utility vehicle instead of a quad?
You know, the ones with a tilt bed on the back?

Like a John Deere Gator HPX? They also make em in diesel.
