whats the fishing going to be like on bear lake in the next couple of weeks. Dads got a boat, riggered and all, is it worth fishing it this soon? Is the ice off yet, haven't been up there since my last ice fishing trip.

I have been so busy with work I haven't even been out. However,
I have heard the fishing has been hit and miss. The lake is
ice free.

This is one of the best times of the year to fish it IMO. I am
no expert at this lake and still have a lot to learn. Last year at this time we fished the east side, and trolled in about
15-20 feet of water. It was right after they stocked the small
cuts.

In about 3 hours we caught a 5lb cut and a couple of 6-8 mac's.
I had the best luck with those Lucky Craft Lures. I used a yellow pattern. We also catch them with rapalas.
