My boys and I are going for a float trip down the Missouri river in Montana in the first part of June. We are starting at Coal banks landing and finishing at Judith Landing, about 50 miles downstream. I woudl appreaciate if anybody on here knows of any interesting sites to see or hike to, ie slot canyons, old cabins, petroglyphs, in this section of the river. Also, does anyone know what the fishing is like?

do a google search, there's a few good books on it.

Something you MUST watch are the thunder heads. In the afternoon you may see some large thunder heads building. Keep and eye on them because when they open up the wind will blow you up river! It's kind of a good idea to plan to be off the river by late afternoon. Also, no matter what you see other's doing, always stow your boat so that it wont blow away while your sleeping. . .

Take care, and have fun. . .
