Depends on the area. The top two shots are from Lake Nipigon, Ontario and we were there in March. I would guess around 30" of ice or so. The one with the fish house is on West Battle lake in Minnesota. I have needed an extension around there so, 40" or so..the one with the wheelers is Crow Lake, Ontario and they rarely get over about 24" due to late freezing and lots of snow.

great pic's but seeing that one of the guy drilling a hole in the ice reminds me of the old gag where a guy is using a chainsaw up in a tree to cut off the limb he's sitting on. Don't know what it is exactly but don't believe i'll ever ice fish! :)

You would have had some entertainment if there was any wind in the 3rd picture :)
One time we went the guy that started dilling the holes (glare ice) he just started spinning around the auger cause he wasn't heavy enough, Also had some para-house experience's :)

Yeah, I hear you on the parasail fishhouse! I have learned to anchor securely now..there was only about 4" of ice that day but the fishing was worth it..
