I'm looking for the Best/New 209 Conversion for a Remington ML 700!

When I bought my 1st Remington ML 700 I had a Machine Shop back East build me the Conversion long before they were for sale!

I've lost that Guys address/Name!

I understand there were some Remington 209 conversions that had lots of Blow Back, sure the Hell don't need/want one of them!

Looking for Info on the Best 209 Conversion kit available & does anybody here at MM have a new one they'd like to sell?

Thanks Guys & Gals!

I used to know of places worth Hiking in to for Elk & Deer!

The best conversion is available here: www.BadgerRidgeInd.com

Zero blow back, and can use Blackhorn 209.

Lots of details on how to perform the conversion yourself. You can even download the original owners manual.

Hope it helps!

>Has anyone used this kit?
Is the badgerridge the best conversion kit for the older Remington 700ML or is there a newer version? If anyone has any knowledge on this subject I would appreciate your help.
Thanks

I have used a Hunter 209 conversion that looks exactly like this kit. As well as a kit from Luke @ Arrowhead. Both work great and provide a sealed system with no blowback when installed correctly. I have rebarreled my 700ML guns so I can not speak to the breechplug they are using in this kit. It does look similar to other breechplugs so I would not be concerned about the quality or safety. The ventliner will also block most of the blowback unlike the original ignition/breechplug on the M700ML.

Thanks for the reply. I did go ahead and purchase this kit from badger Ridge and have got it installed and have been shooting. So far it is performing great. Now I am in the process of working up a load . I would recommend this to anyone wanting to upgrade their Remington 700 muzzleloader to shoot 209 primers.

Buck, I have one of the first Remington model 700 M.L. rifles in .54 caliber. I use this weapon to hunt black powder every year in Colorado and at home in Illinois. I have replaced the factory ignition system with the one you have now. I use 90 grains by volume of the BH 209 powder and I use the heavy 518 grain No Excuses bullet. Big and Slow is the method that the Elk Assassin advised me to do several years ago and I followed his advice. Killed a couple of cow elk with this set up and I like everything about it. I do use a wool wad in between the powder charge and the No Excuses bullet. Get you some 209 and a box of the No Excuses and do some practicing. I believe that you will agree with me about this load if you are hunting elk. Good Luck, Cow Tag

My Old/Original REMINGTON Inline likes the Heavy Conicals like cowtag mentioned!
