Recently, I viewed an advertisement about a new (?) type of open sight called the See All Open Sight. Wondering if any of our fellow MM members know for sure if it is LEGAL for hunting in the state of Colorado? Any comments on this sight? Any concerns? Not expensive and I am considering purchasing one for my old smoke pole rifle. Cow Tag

I was also looking at it last week. Just from what others were saying, they thought it is legal since it has no electronics to it. It certainly is an interesting concept but I've not seen any reviews relative to how it might compare to a peep.

Yep, its colorado legal. Its legal in all states that allow fiber optic sights. Only the fiber optic gets magnified to clear up sight picture. It will NOT clear up the animal at any distance. The main focus is to finally have a sight thats clear for those of us that have blurry vision.

My review and pictures. I do need to shoot it a lot more at longer distances to see how i like it though.

Do they make it in Silver?

I used to know of places worth Hiking in to for Elk & Deer!
Thanks to Illegal Bastards & the USFS not enforcing Rules you can Zing in to them Places on Wheelers now & not see a Damn thing!
But by GAWD it don't take long for them U-Tards to get there with all the Unethical BS and the New Technology!

Here is from the horses mouth (their website):

Blackpowder Compliance

In many Western states optical sights aren't allowed on blackpowder hunts. But that doesn't affect our customers. A See All open sight is allowed anywhere an open sight with fiber optic elements is allowed. Since a See All Open Sight isn't an optical sight (the target is not viewed or enhanced optically, only the sight recticle is) it's legal anywhere open sights with fiber optic elements are. So you may have an advantage with a See All Open Sight, but not an illegal one.

Interesting/intriguing concept. Getting a clear front sight is becoming harder and harder for me with or without glasses.

Also kind of incorportates Marley's triangle front sight concept.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-13-13 AT 07:58PM (MST)[p]Looks like it has to be attached to a Weaver or Picatinny rail? Not sure how that works on muzzys. Anyone know what "rail" you would have to buy to make this work?

LAST EDITED ON Dec-13-13 AT 08:00PM (MST)[p]Best used with a rail so you can slide it up to where you need it and for support of the sight.

I used the Durasight rail for the CVA guns. My traditions strikerfire I will order a rail from tradtions as well.

Texas Hunter, did you view the info offered by Frontier Gander in his post above? He seems to really like this sight. The price is about $100 retail but he believe that we could buy it for $70 or close via Amazon or E Bay. I am thinking about purchasing one very soon. I value your opinion highly---any further comments? Cow Tag

The only drawback I see is if you wanted to shoot longer distances (120 yards+)

The lyman adjustable would be better in that regard, but for 95% of shots in Colorado (less than 120 yards) it shouldn't matter.

Frontier - I'd sure be interested in your review of this. I'm really looking for something that could be adjusted for longer distances maybe out to 300 yds. Although you obviously can adjust it, if there's no marks on it, you would not know where it was set. I'm assuming the adjustment slides as opposed to clicks? Most of the reviews I saw on Amazon do not pertain to muzzy or rifle shooting so your test would be great! Thanks!

How long is this sight? I am trying to figure out if this will mount to a Knight DISC. It would be hard to use a long Picatinny style rail. Could this be mounted with 2 short weaver type mounts together.

Hunters, a neighbor of mine recently ordered a new See All Open Sight and mounted it on his TC Encore. It was almost dark this evening when I held the rifle up to my shoulder for a look see. Anything new is somewhat different but I can see how the sight works. My new question to anyone who has actually used one of these sights (in the field hunting) is how does the sight perform in low light situations? It was getting dark when I looked down the barrel of the Encore. Just wondering if this sight will do its job very early in the morn or late in the evening on actual hunting situations. Any comments, concerns, or objections? Cow Tag
