Can Blackhorn 209 powder be used in a ?plunge style? open breech inline?

My current set up: 50 caliber Knight Bighorn (2002), 90 gr triple7, 290gr hollow-point power belts, Winchester 209 shotshell primers with NO plastic jacket.

I've searched online and find the generic answer of ?no? in ?plunger style? inlines because of possible blowback. I also find people saying that they have no problem using it in those types of guns and that 777 gives just as much blowback.

I have a good muzz elk tag this year and the benefits of BH209 are very intriguing. If I am going to switch loads, now is a good time.

What do my MM friends think about BH209 in a Bighorn?

Thanks for the replies. I will stick with the 777, it has worked great in the past.

I was on a muzzle loader kick for some years but it has been 5 years since I had a muzzleloader tag. Question: Is 11 year old triple seven to old? Does it loose its oomph over time?
