My son will be 10 next year and I was looking to put him in for some out state draws. I am looking to see what options for ML's for the younger hunters. Recoil and gun size are the main factors for the younger hunters. My son is on the bean pole side of skinny.

I have never shot a muzzle loader so I will be learning as much as my boy. Seems like the brand Thompson Center is a household name. I am also looking for caliber options and any other potential setup's for younger hunters. Pretty green here with the topic...

A knight LK 93 or a knight wolverine. Both can be picked up rather cheap and if you shoot sabots with 100 gr or less loads he should be able to handle the recoil.

Three good options for me to look: CVA, TC and Knight.

There's the weight scenario, ultra light is easy to handle but kicks like a mule, heavy is less recoil but harder for a 10 year old. I figure he will be shooting from a solid rest so heavier may be better.

Sounds like we have some flexibility on powder options for recoil.
