Here in Idaho you have to use all lead bullet, loose powder, exposed cap, and open sights. Just wondering what would be considered a good 5 shot group at 100 yrds with that setup?

A 3" group would be very acceptable to me for a 3 shot group. 4" not bad for a 5 shot group.

venor, ergo sum (I hunt, therefore I am)

I would agree 3" or less would be good. Mine do a bit better here are a couple.

Open sights?...... six inch group works for me.

Open sights meaning no scope.

Thanks for the replies so far.

3" group! Dang! guess I need to practice more. Best I can get is 6" group. If anybody cares I shoot the Knight Bighorn with 90 grs of triple 7 with 405 powerbelts. Anybody got any better loads for that muzzleloader?
