T/C Pro Hunter

A friend of mine purchased this barrel for his T/C in 50 cal. Anyone else have this combination and willing to discuss what bullet and powder they use for elk. Do these barrels like sabot, bore size bullets, or both? I mainly shoot No-Excuse bullets with Pyrodex P and B-209 in my whites and Remingtons. I also have a pound of Tripple 7 that I have never used. Trying to shorten the learning curve on my friends rifle and not purchase items that will not work.

It is my understanding that TC barrels like sabots. I bet if you used 90 or 100grs of 209 with a Barnes 250 or 300gr TEZ FB, it will shoot lights out at 200 yards.

Blackhorn 209 with a sabot. Most likely would waste a lot of time if he tried to get conicals to shoot. My Omega shoots BH 209 with the stock breech plug. Not sure if this rifle does or not

3blades post is right on. That is my exact set-up and does shoot well. I've decreased the 209 down to 70 gr for my kids youth seasons {recoil} and its solid there as well. Good Luck
