.50 cal Hawken loads

Got a buddy who built a .50 cal Hawken Kit. And wonder what loads you guys suggest using as far as patch and ball? Thanks! You helped me find a killer load for my .54 so thought I'd ask about his! Thanks!
 
Thats probably an spanish made gun, Invest Arms I think, something like that, just like a Lyman. If so it will have pretty deep lands/grooves soooo... 90 grs of 2 or 3f or equivalent, you'll have to experiment. 490 ball with more than likely a .018 patch. I bet a ballistol water mix of 1 part ballistol to 7 parts water will work well but you can experiment with that to see what works best.
 
Its made in Italy and not a real bad rifle. My dads doesnt fire pyrodex worth a damn due to the small powder channel that clogs up easily with pyrodex. Shoot goex and its great.

.490" round ball, .018 to .020" patches, 70 to 100 grains Goex 2fg will do the job.
