Hunters, I have a TC Encore ML rifle in .50 caliber. The weapon is probably ten years old now. I am assuming that I can use the Black Horn 209 powder in it WITHOUT changing the original breech plug. I see where Texas Hunter advised a MM member change breech plugs in order to use the BH 209. Should I purchase a new technology breech plug for this regular Encore ML rifle?

My reading on the "modernmuzzleloader" web site seems to indicate that the Encore breech plug is fine for Blackhorn209 powder as is. I'd try it before buying any different plug.

The Encore and Omega breechplugs are identical and both work with BH 209 without any modification.
However, look on the BH 209 website and click on the link that shows you how to clean out the rear pocket with a drillbit (by hand) after each shooting session. Blackhorn causes a hard matter to build up with shots and you have to clean it after every 20 or so shots.
