Need to purchase a CO legal MZ for elk

I am planning on hunting in Colorado and have a MZ tag for this fall. I have only bow hunted before. I have a bit of experience with a TC Triumph, but do not own a gun.

That being said, which gun(priced at TC Triumph Bone Collector price or less) would you choose? I want something that is easy to shoot/clean and most importantly accurate.

I am leaning towards CVA and TC products at this point.
Thanks!

I have a TC triumph I use. Shoot 300g Thors with 90 grains of Blackhorn. I replaced the original rear sight with a Williams peep. I have been very happy with the way it shoots. 1" at 100 yds. Some folks say that with the QLA the TC guns don't shoot full bore bullets well. But between my bother, myself and a friend we have a Triumph and three Omegas, all of which shoot full bore bullets well.

Overall, based on what I have seen of other folks guns, brands in similar price range perform about the same. Just personal preference. I use TC because I like the look and feel of them

My Omega (same QLA as TRiumph) shot lead conicals at 5-8 inches at 25 yards and there are plenty of other owners out there who have similar problems. I even sent it back to T/C and they checked it out and they said nothing was wrong with it and I should shoot sabots.

That said most of them will shoot "conicals" with a rear bell on them (Thors, FPBs, and powerbelts) pretty well, but no guarantees.

Don't take my word for it, call T/C and ask them if they will back up their guns to shoot conicals? 100% of the time they will tell you that the Triumph is designed to shoot sabots

I would buy a Knight or a CVA Accura if I were in the market for a CO gun. It is really a no brainer. Either buy a gun that if it doesn't shoot conicals well, you are SOL, or buy one that will shoot them well for sure. There are lemons in every brand, but you would be 99% with those guns and if it didn't you would most likely get a new gun.

I am glad yours shoots Thors well. I would be curious to see how a bullet like the no excuse (or any other solid lead/flat based conical) shoots. That is what mine wouldn't shoot worth a darn. There are many others out there with the same problem. And T/C will not back up these faulty barrels. I tried by sending mine to them twice before I ended up just cutting off the QLA. As I stated, they told me it was a sabot gun because of the 1/28 twist (HAHAHAHHA)and I should shoot sabots. When I bought mine, they advertised "shoots sabots and conicals alike" but you won't see that any more. So why would you buy a gun when the company says it is designed for only sabots and won't back it up when it won't shoot conicals well.

Glad yours shoots well, but anyone who buys one with the idea that it will be a conical gun is rolling the dice.

I'm leaning towards now purchasing a CVA optima or accura.
-Is the added cost enough to justify an accura?
-What loads/bullet works the best for legal Colorado elk hunting?
