Knight Disc value (original orange discs)

I have a Knight original Disc that I bought new back in about 2001. I have shot it less than 50 times. It is stainless steel with camo stock. Has some wear on the stock from several hunts, but still shoots really well. 26" barrel. I am thinking about upgrading to something a little faster to clean, and my brother may be interested in it. However, I don't have a clue what these actually go for used. I want to be fair, but also don't want to get screwed either. Any ideas of what a reasonable price would be? Any input is appreciated.

My brother is my hunting buddy, so I would probably give him the rifle and he would pay me back in other ways. If I wanted to know what one was worth, I would do some research here: http://www.gunbroker.com/

Wish I could afford to outright give it away, but I need to get something for it. I have checked gunbroker. However, I only see asking prices. I can't see what they actually end up selling for or if they even sell at all.

Brand new Disc extremes (a step up from your model) are selling new for aprox $500. Figure yours NIB at $400. When I look at used, I try and pay 50% of new, so $2-250 would be reasonable.

That said, you can buy a brand new, accurate muzzleloader today in the $300-350 range in stainless/camo. In blued/black, $2-250

solid info posted here above. $200 - $250

also these can be converted to bare primer or Knight FPJ ignition by buying a different breach plug and bolt. then they are just like a Disk Extreme except for the stock.
I would think with a bare primer ignition you might get $75 - $100 more.

Thanks for all the input. It sounds like I wasn't too far off in my estimate. It gives me a good starting point if I end up listing it.

I have looked into the conversion kit to an extreme. However, it costs about $150 bucks, so I'm not sure it would be worth it.

I'm still trying to decide what to do. It really does shoot well. It's just a bit of a pain to clean, and I don't like that it isn't designed for BH209.

How much of an upgrade would a T/C Triumph be in comparison? I like how simple they are as far as parts are concerned. Are they good shooters?

Change the breech plug and then it will shoot BH209. Been shooting it in my disc extreme for years. Never had a hang fire yet.

I have the original Knight Disc and shoot BH209 out of mine just fine! All you need to do is use the magnum primers with the orange disc's. I didn't change out breech plugs or anything else and I have been using that powder for 2 years now. This gun honestly is a tack driver and has stretched my distance. I currently am shooting 90gr of BH209 powder, CCI magnum primers, and the Barnes 290gr TMZ for deer, and then for elk I leave everything the same except I bump the powder up to 100gr.

A few years back I was thinking along the same lines as you were and than someone pointed me into the direction of BH209. Now you couldn't pay me to give up that gun. The White Mountain barrels on the original disc are better than the one's on these current models that are easier to clean. Plus it's not getting as dirty since the BH209 burns cleaner and leaves less residue, which in turn makes cleaning easier to do.

I tried out the BH209 in my Knight Disc this morning. Shot Great! I put 11 rounds down range without any issues. However, I am finding it even harder to clean than Pyrodex. The barrel is not a problem, but the bolt and breach are worse than I have ever had with Pyrodex. Pyrodex at least loosens up. What product do you use for cleaning with BH209? I am just using Hoppes #9. Do I need something more aggressive? Any tips would be appreciated.
