So I'm hoping to head to the range soon to shoot my first ML ever. I have a CVA Hawken .54 and will be shooting patched round balls in it with Pyrodex RS powder. Going to shoot 80gr and see how it does. I'm just looking for any tips or advice you guys might have for me regarding loading, sighting in, cleaning frequency, etc. Thanks in advance!

RedHot or Spitfire nipples are preferred. They guarantee better powder ignition. Also, don't be hooked into needing that crappy bore butter / wonderlube stuff in your bore. Lots of other options for patch lube.

I usually twist the barrel around after pouring the powder down. That way it enters the powder drum easier - where your nipple screws-on. Either twist the barrel or tap the side of the barrel towards where that drum exists. That's to help avoid hangfires.

Pyrodex FF granules are on the big-side. I prefer Pyrodex P with sidehammers. Better / more instant ignition.

Yup, it's the one you built and sold to Dan to start with. He still has some of the accessories that you sent with the rifle but he couldn't find them when I got the gun, just need to drop by and get them now.
