Just got some of the new 350 gr Federal premium BOR muzzleloading bullets. Ron Laughlin on some other websites showed a penetration test that looks promising both in penetration and weight retention. Hope to give them a shot in the near future. He shot 2 of them and sold me the rest.

I asked Federal why they would be tougher than the 348 powerbelt aerotips and and they said they are a lead/antimony alloy which should make them harder. Hopefully on the same toughness level as the Hornady FPBs but easier to load?

Now if they were just available!!!

Are they Conicals?

Or Worthless Sabots?

The 270 grain version is supposed to be available next. That's an awesome bullet and the change in composition may have improved them overall.

Speak of the devil! They became available last night and currently show still available.

Amazing performance in my White Whitetails. 100 grains Pyrodex P by volume, with an RWS #11 cap. Shooting for load accuracy with my scoped one that I will use in two weeks in Wyoming for my antelope. Three shots as good as I've ever done. WOW!!!!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-31-15 AT 11:22AM (MST)[p]Hmm. I haven't shot mine yet, but I tried starting them in my White and they would have almost dropped down the barrel with little/no resistance. So I am going to try them in my Knight or Omega (minus the QLA).

Looks like the shot pretty dang well for you though!

Yes, posted some other pics and comments in my HAC. They go down just by the weight of the ramrod and a finger or two pressure. Was a little worried about that if I was to try to load a clean barrel, I don't know how well they would stay seated. White used to advise you to fire a 30 grain squibb load of powder to foul your barrel before loading the original Super Slugs also. Think that would be advisable with these also, but once you shoot them you'll love them..

Somebody is gonna move these Slugs that don't Fit the Barrel like they should off the Seat of the Powder & Blow a Barrel to Hell!

If they are that Loose & you Bounce the Gun around Loaded on an ATV Gun Boot that carries the Gun with the Barrel down it's gonna happen!

Best Try & Remember to Re-Seat!
