ok guys, im starting completely from scratch. Any recommendations on the best/most accurate choice for a hunting muzzleloader? ill be looking to hunt deer/elk w/ it. state regs say loose powder, conicals (no 209 primer, sabots, jackets, pelletized powder).

thanks in advance!

I will go straight at the question. Knight makes a great product. Get a Western ready one and your set for the gun. Slap a Williams FP peep sight in it. Then look into my paper patching the Lee 500 S&W bullet. I have seen a ton of game hit the ground with that bullet.

I was looking for something similar and went with a used White. No excuses or bull shop 460's over 85 grains of Pyrodex P is super accurate at about 1345 FPS in both of my 50's.

It will shoot MOA or just a tad over, probably under if I used a veggie wad in the load. They pop up on Gun Broker pretty regularly. I have a model 97 and 2 super 91's and they are tackdriver's with big lead
