I'm looking at buying the cva optima and wondering what people think about it. What's the pros and cons and what really makes the Thompson centers worth so much more money?

I just purchased a used un-shot optima for 300.00. I am shooting a 2 1/2 group at 100 yard and feel I'll be able to close that in an inch. The wind was blowing the day of grouping. I've got no complaints so far.

Awesome! I am going to go with the optima v2 as well. From all the research I've done I just really don't think it's worth the extra money for the Thompson centers.

TC costs more because of their advertisement campaign. They used to offer real SS barrels, but now days you can get a painted steel barrel for the same price as what their SS barrels used to cost. They'll tell you its better because its rust proof. Its not rust proof on the inside of the bore soooo.... Yeah.

I like my Optima V2 - much more than the two TC Omegas I had. I looked at the CVA Accura V2 also but didn't like the way the stock felt

I just picked up a slightly-used Optima w the break lever in front of the trigger guard. I like it, looking for a ghost ring sight setup for CO use.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-08-16 AT 09:18PM (MST)[p]I just picked up this CVA Optima V2 brand new. Gun was $312.00 and the scope was $79.00. pretty good deal considering folks selling their used optima want more than this and most are sporting a 1 power scope!

The scope is a mil dot reticle, 3x12 power, 40 mm lens.
