CVA Wolf What can I expect?

First post here on this forum. Purchased a CVA Wolf. I am waiting on the Blackthorn breech. It came with a centerpoint 3-9x40 scope. I think the previous owner slapped this scope on. Not sure how compatible it will be....

A couple of questions. I plan on shooting powerbelts. Thinking of the copper aerotip for muleys.

Thoughts?

Also - which 209 primer do I need to purchase for the Blackthorn powder?

I'd suggest the 300gr Platinum, 250gr Aerolite or 300gr Aerolite with 80 - 100gr Blackhorn209.

Superb shooting rifles and easy on the wallet.

Now the scope..... Not sure on that one buddy.

Wolf was my 1st black powder rifle, it didn't like power bilt bullets, but loves Hornadays, I still have it as a back up. Awesome rifle.

What hornady round were you shooting?

Slamming little muzzy. Ours shoot powerbelt and fpb's well with 80-100 grain Blackhorn powder. Quick handling, easy to carry, accurate, with a pretty decent trigger. I use a good hot Magnum 209 primer and you can barely sense the double bang. Just be sure to pack the crap outta the load.
