So does anyone on here use hollow points or have any experience with them? I placed an order from cabelas for some powerbelt 295's and realized I ordered hp's not aero tip.

We found the 295 all lead HP's to be too soft and light for larger animals. Several deer and antelope shot with them, and they always expand out the size of a silver dollar and don't exit. I prefer pass-throughs on all animals for better blood trails, so we went up to the 348's. Shoot the same loads of powder (100 Pyrodex P), but give much better performance, and so far have worked better on bucks and bulls.

From looking at my package I actually ordered 245 gr. powerbelt copper HP. I don't have a doubt they can kill just curious if anyone else uses them.

I use the 295gr hollow points. I have killed two bull elk with them, no problems. I first started out with a heavier bullet but found that in my gun the lighter 295s held way tighter groups.

I am going to be shooting 295 hollow points on my Colorado deer hunt this fall.
Have taken several Michigan Whitetails with them ,no problems.
A friend here in Michigan likes the 245 grain for deer.
