Im in the market for a new muzzleloader and I think I have settled on a CVA Accura. I like the idea of the MR version but im a little concerned that Id be giving up some long range accuracy. What are your thoughts on this? Should I stick with the MR or go with standard V2 27 inch barrel. I consider long range to be 175 - 200 yards and would NOT feel comfortable shooting beyond that. Thank you, Bergy

I have the MR version, and I love it. That range won't be a problem at all. Accuracy will be just fine. I shoot 100 gr BH209 and 290gr Barnes TEZ.

GunCarver, thanks for the recommendation and the load info. Cant wait to get my hands on this gun and shoot it. bergy

Keep in mind that you will need to order the special Blackhorn 209 breech plug from Western Powders if you are going to shoot Blackhorn 209 powder. This is true with either Accura model. Also, I am not sure if you are aware, but the MR version is not designed to have open sights added. The comb on the stock is too high. Is is designed for use with a scope only.

What version of the Accurra accepts the Peep or Williams peep? I don't want to make the wrong purchase either!! Thanks and sorry to the OP if I hijacked or added on!
