Remington Ultimate Muzzy feedback

I know there has been lots of interest in the Remington Ultimate muzzleloader, and I have sold a ton of them to MM members so I know they are out being used. Starting to read some good hunting stories and good performance reviews like Zeke's journey.

Besides the weight of the system does anybody have any negative reviews on the them? When I finally draw me a muzzy tag, I think I will leave the Whites at home and try a ultimate. So post up your good or bad or indifferent reviews for my research. Thanks

The Sling Swivel Studs SUCK!

I Don't Really Like the Wide/Serndero Type Foregrip,But that's just me!

They're Solid!

Heavy!

And Will Handle 200 Grains of Triple7!(But use BH209!)(And NOT 200 Grains!)

Like Bess said; CHANGE THE FRONT SWIVEL STUD OR PAY THE PRICE.

It's an accident waiting to happen (which it will) with that little stubby wood thread stud. Change it out for one with machine threads and a nut inletted flush or below the level of the ramrod track. Easy Peasy!

Other than the weight and the front swivel stud, I have nothing negative about the gun.

Remember they all have their own personalities just like every other rifle. What works for one rifle MIGHT work in another but it might not too. The accutips didn't shoot really well for me..at least not to my requirements so I went with something else after plenty of $, experimenting and countless trips to my shooting range to find what worked well and held groups at "range".

It's a great choice but it's not the only choice out there. A couple friends have the CVA something or another and I've been able to shoot and chronograph them and those damn things simply shoot really well!!!!

Thank goodness for choices.

Ultimate in action. Worked to perfection!

One more thing, if you get the ignition source wet (rifle primer) it WILL NOT FIRE.

Use the same care that you would with any other cap or primer.

I dropped a couple "cases" on the ground but only found one. Later, after a rain, my son-in-law found the other one and I "tested" it during the hunt on one of the times that I checked zero and fired and reloaded a fresh charge. Even though it was days dried out it wouldn't spark the load at all.

I keep mine in a hip bag (fanny pack) and inside of a zip lock baggy just to make sure they stay dry. We got some tremendous rains down on my hunt and this worked well.

Just don't leave them on the ground in a rain storm. haha

I'll second what's been said, the foregrip is too wide, I like it slimmer. Took my buck at 250 but hit about 12 inches off, but did the job.

I really like it and it's results so far. Will be testing it on Elk in two weeks and will let you know. So far nothing negative. It is heavy and a little pricey, but a great muzzy rifle.

Manwill,, I think you should come to the cabin in Fruitland with me and my bro instead of your annual late season ML elk with our buddy in Vernal.. That way I can test it out on one of those 450 yard shots at a big rutting buck,, ;)

Rink,, aka Ron

Rink, I'd love to help you out with that. However, I have all three of my sons going with me muzzy elk hunt g this year. It will be a great time. Great hunt, freinds, family, food and some great memories to be made this year.

That is awesome you're taking all the boys with.. Hope you guys are all worn out packing them elk out daily ?.. Me and Kent decided to wait til the second half of my hunt,, 6th to 10th.. Come on snow!!! Lol
