Bullet drift & drop questions

First I am shooting TC shockwaves 30 grain spire point from a 50 caliber Remington 700Ml. I am guessing they are going about 1,700 fps. What would you expect the wind drift to be at 100 yards for a 10 mph crosswind?

Also I shot a different bullet hornady xtp 50 cal saboted down to .44 at 50 yards I was 2-1/2" high. Where do you think I will be at 33 yards? I am letting my girls shoot it for deer soon and I am trying to figure where it will hit. It likely will be a small whitetail so a small target. I am guessing a little under 2" high. No I cannot shoot at 33 yards (or 25).

If you mean 300 gr, a full value 10 mph wind would be 2" to 2.5". If taking a 100 yard shoot just stay over the vitals and favor into the wind for 10 mph full value.

For the bullet hitting 2.5" high at 50 it should be lower at 33yd. No one can really tell you with out a true velocity and what bullet weight and you would have to shoot it. Either way 2.5" high on a good shoot with kill a whitetail. Having a kid aim 2.5" or 2" low would probably be a worse shoot than just not telling them it will be high. Vitals is 8" approximately so you still have a couple of inches to spare.

Thanks guys I never thought it would be that much but I was 2-1/2" right at 100 and wind was blowing that way!

A slow not very aerodynamic bullet will drift a lot.

Elktaker is correct.

The wind will have much more effect on a muzzleloader projectile since the velocity and ballistic coefficient is so much lower than most center fire rifles. But, wind affects them ALL bullets in flight and that's the biggest rub when shooting at the outer fringes of our range.

Nothing substitutes running a few hundred+ slugs down range in all types of wind. It revealing to say the least.
