Power belts in an old school muzzleloader

I have a .54 muzzleloader, similar to a great plains gun. Can I shoot powerbelts through it or should I use conicals?

If your rate of twist is fast enough to stabilize them you good to go.

We shoot them out of our 1:66 at 50 yards way out east each winter and they fly fine
Give em a try, if they don't group don't use em

I have a T/C renegade with a 1/48 twist. They always shot well out of it. I only hunted elk with them, and for that I used the 405 and 444 gr bullets. Remember they are soft lead, so I recommend using larger gr bullets than if you are using a better constructed bullet. I think 348gr is the smallest I would use in a 54 cal.
