Scope Suggestions

I shot with a red dot scope for a long time on my TC omega and then about 6 years ago I went to the Nikon BDC 3-9-40mm reticle scope and really like it. It's a very affordable scope as well. There's a lot of other scopes out now from when I made the switch, but I really have no arguments against it or a reason to switch.

I put a Burris Fullfield II 2-7x35 on mine and love it. Its the 4th fullfield I have owned. I like the ballistic plex, seems to line up quite nicely with my load of 100 gr BH and 250 hornady SST low drags.

Scope it just like any centerfire rifle. Some of the ML loads can generate stout recoil so choose accordingly. Same with magnification choice. Choose the magnification to match your hunting area. Having said that I have a wide variety of scopes on my ML guns from Leupold (Mark4) to Swarovski to Kahles and Super Sniper.

Mechanical reliability is my number 1 requirement in a hunting scope. Optical quality is definitely second. I have found even with lesser quality scopes, I can see just fine well after legal shooting times. If it holds zero and tracks consistently it is a great scope.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-11-17 AT 09:28PM (MST)[p]I bought a cheap firefield scope for my cva optima. Cost me $70.00. It is a 4x12x40mm. Has the mill dot reticle and turrets(which I will probably never use on a muzzy) the scope performed very well last year as I was able to take the first buck I shot at, at 248 yards.
