I'm shooting knight bighorn magnum 28 inch barrel and 209 primers, and 420 grain no excuses solid lead bullet. My question is how much loose powder or pellets would be a max load for safety? I would like to stretch this setup to 300 yards for deer only. Thank you in advance.

He uses 95 gr of Pyrodex P.

About the same power could probably be gotten from 777 fffg

I use 90-95 gr of Blackhorn with my 460 bullet, but don't shoot that far.

from what I have experienced 777 should give higher velocities than pyrodex given the same volume.
