TC Impact rear sight

I recently purchased a new TC 50 cal. Impact for the upcoming muzzleloading season in Colorado, (my old traditions hawkins 50 cal. rifle apparently shoots around corners with anything but patched roundball which is no longer legal for elk here.) Upon trying to sight it in I've discovered that it shoots high even with the rear sight backed all the way down. Open sights are required here, so no scope, and no sabot rounds allowed either. So far I've tried the federal bor-lock 350g and the tc maxi-hunter 350g, both with 100g of triple 7. I'm getting tight groups and it's hitting perfectly centered right and left, but both bullets are consistently about 7 inches high at 100 yrds. Any input would be appreciated.

You need a taller front sight.

Changing your bullet or powder won't get you where you need to be. Better order one today!

And just a heads up, if u order a front sight most all come w a 6-48 hole and screw. Your impact is 8-40 screws. I've been there w this. But I find it hard to believe it's shooting that high? Most shoot low is the issue. I guess you u have adjusted the rear sight all the way down? One thing u might could do is use some electrical tape and wrap around the sight and gun to pull the slack outta the ramp as a last resort
