Hey guy's I recently purchased the Rem Ultimate and I'm wanting to get a few opinions on loads and bullets. I am a die hard Barnes fan when it comes to muzzleloader bullets but looking at other options just because its fun to mess around with bullets...

One I am not interested in are power belts... But if any of you guys out there have had good success with Parkers, Thors, Pittman Bullets, Kinetic Performance and wouldn't mind sharing your experience I'm all ears..

Thanks all and my picture is just for viewing pleasure..

Here is a review of a couple that you have listed

Parker

I have shot 270 emax and 300 BEs. I still shot BE's saboted out of my cva wolf at 1850ish fps. I like BE's for standard muzzleloaders (your REM is faster and the bullets will likely explode at closer ranges at your velocities) . The Emax I shot out of my custom up to 2450-2500 fps. I liked that the jacket is in between the BE and the Match hunter's thickiness which is perfect for my velocities (should be similar to what you will see). They were extremely accurate out of my custom muzzleloader but they are liter than what I wanted and the wind blows them around a lot.

Avoid the Match Hunters, they may do the job but likely will not expand properly at your velocity at distance. They are designed for smokeless guns and performance very well there, But in you application, they will likely make a .45" hole through the animal and often "pencil".

Pittman

A little better than the Match Hunter, they have a slightly thinner jacket. If I was going to shot this bullet, I would have went with 325. I was pushed towards trying the Kinetic Performance bullets instead (was told the terminal performance was much better)

Kinetic Performance

I got mine when he was still making the 344gr Bombs (lead core jacked) that I am shooting sabot-less. They are heavy and fight the wind really well and my real work BC is .380 at a velocity of 2250 fps which is my hunting load. He stills runs the 344 Bombs occasionally for a few people and I hope to continue to be one. I have shot two buck mule deer at 250 and 280 and performance was awesome. 250 yard shot passed through vitals and bullet(lead portion was lodged into his opposite shoulder). 280 yard shot full pass through blew 2" exit hole in opposite shoulder. The jacket peels off and I have done gutless method on both of my bucks so did not recover it. From reports/photos from others, It appears that after penetration it peels off and opens to the size of a silver dollar and looks nasty. I have shot them to 725 and has held 1 moa groups. Less than 1 moa at 400 yards.

He produces a 302 bomb which has been said to work good in Sabots, not sure on the 344 out of a Sabots it is a big bullet. He also makes the 300ish mbomb (if he is still calling it that). I am not positive on your barrel twist but I am assuming that being in a sabot that 300-325 grain bullets will likely stabilize easier.

Those are the more premium bullets that I have played with all of the bullets I mention have a high BC for a 458 which is very important if you want to ethically take game farther out.

I am hoping to put a 344 bomb through an elk Wednesday!!

Thanks elktaker, that's good information... good luck tomorrow I hope you punch a hole in one...
