Well it did yesterday as after the pre-emptive beating Cody did good and found the other half to Topaz' find of a month ago. My 195th fresh deer of the year, scored out the set at a bit over 197. They had the usual horny disagreement over ownership- look familiar?

So just to keep the peace I took full custody.

An incredible year in the making as I have a "dirty dozen" of un-matched singles and only 3 big sets, tough year for matching them up. These measure from 72'ish to 87+

2 best sets @ 178+ and 197+

Sweet sheds Squirrel. The amount of browns you pick up blows my mind. And I love the action dog shot. Too funny.

Theres logic, and theres women. They don't go together.

im not going to lie, watching your success with those dogs and seeing how much fun they have doing it makes me want to get horn hunting dogs bad!

Wouldn't you say that second from right on top and first from left on bottom are a match?

12 miles apart in a different major drainage so would have to say no on that one. I'm sure they will all be laying there points up on clay banks next spring white as hell and spotted from 400 yards out. you know... the usual! I've never had this many of this quality un-matched though.

Unfreakinbelievable that you find that many browns. I'm at one for the year thus far. One question though, where is the junk? Seems all your bigger ones are clean typicals.

Anything with trash I just leave it lie there... not worth bending over to pick up trash!! Beside they don't fit in the pack with big stickers off the outside.

The big NT were around but I just don't find them I guess this year. I matched up the bottom second from left just a couple hours ago, scores out at 178, with a couple inches broken off one tine. Most of our bucks top out at 170- 180 no matter how old they get. I have multi year sets that only vary by 2-3 inches for 3-5 yrs of history. Then they start to regress slowly, nothing dramatic like a lot of people claim..

# 202 and 203 came home today I need 3 more to tie my all-time high then it is off to look for elk. I am VERY tired of sage brush. The bottom of my carharts look like you took a weedeater to them for 5 tanks of gas.

I know it is very unworthy on here to be positive but I've been doing this stuff for 20+ years and it has never been better in spite of 100x more competition than in the old days. The hills are steeper though!

The dogs really help to motivate to go out even in crap weather or after work as they have their "needs" and are quite insistent. Yesterday Topaz came up from behind with a 4pt elk I had passed by, growling and strutting so proud... he made my day. He knew he made me look dumb and he was rubbing it in.

This is one I would really like to match up, I have his left @85" and he was right horn dominant. I called him peckerhead but he was poetry in motion. And yes I know I'm not welcome to post pics on here anymore but I wanted to try something new... and it did not work!

Your welcome to post up those pictures, and screw anyone who says different.
Looks like another great year finding some good bone.
