We're all hunters of sheds for different reasons. Some like me just like to collect 'em,some score or attempt to score matched sets, some mount them or have them mounted, some make things or do art work with them, some decorate their homes (both exterior and interior), and some collect and sell, some even trade.A couple of years ago, I traded away a large elk antler that made it onto a bull on the 2011 RMEF tour! Didn't think much about it a while agowhen I was given a broken, small brownie shed, and I've only found ONE elk shed all year! Still...

At the current price from buyers at around $10 per pound,a 10# and 5# as I have shown here are worth $150. That to me is enough incentive to keep on "horn" huntin'! :)

I do practically everything you mentioned that people do with sheds other than sell them. To me the memories I get as I'm digging around in my horn pile are worth more than the buyer would pay so I keep most of them. I will sell or trade off the smaller ones to make more room for others but that is all. I have a good friend that likes to trade white antlers for taxidermy work which works out great for both of us.

I can't imagine anyone paying $10 per pound for those two...if so, I've got a small fortune in my basement...

I've been hunting and selling my deer and elk sheds for the past five years. I must say $9-11 a pound for antlers with color is realistic and I have a nice new hunting rifle to show for it.

We will be in Nevada buying antler this weekend if anybody is interested 208-403-3140
