LAST EDITED ON Jan-12-14 AT 01:06AM (MST)[p]Post up some pics of your favorite shed/sheds, elk, deer, moose... I need some motivation for shed hunting this year. Haven't seen any bald bucks yet. It's still way early for me, but seen a couple people out walking already.
Here's my favorite...

Let me guess, you drive a 1 ton with oak trees for smoke stacks, 12" lift kit and 40" tires to pull a single place lawn mower trailer?

HaHaHa!!! They are currently my favorite. I have others that I am fond of too but I'll wait till more shed heads chime in.

Don't have a good picture of it but the heavy one, my daughter is holding is my favorite. Tried finding that guy this summer/fall but no luck :-(
Funny thing about that shed is Madison was walking with me and I spotted it, knowing it was huge I told her look at that. I point and start to walk over to it, she sprints past me and grabs it. Then proceeds to scream "look what I found!!!" :) Nothing to say except yep, you did great Madison :) She then knows it is a big shed and says "Dad if I find the other side I will let you have it so you aren't so sad"
She is the greatest :)

Found the other side not too far!

This was the cherry on top of a great day of shed hunting/scouting. Alot of the antlers found were older but I still found 14 of them!

Lionking, that country looks familiar. You a New Mexican?

You got it, from Farmington but now I live in Rio Rancho. Looks like the Carson.

Sweet find by the way!

Yeah the Carson! I am from Espanola. Be heading down to Rio Ranch this friday to catch the Monster Trucks for my boy's birthday!
Good eye on the country recognition. Hoping to find a pile of sheds this year....I made my New Year resolution to make sure I get out and hunt for sheds more rather than talk about it! It is another way of me getting into shape! HAHA

Probably my all-time favorite. I'd only just started to "catch on to my 'shediction' " when I found a large left side 7 point elk shed. I showed it to a few friends, and a fellow stopped by with what we thought was a match, but given the distance apart from where he found his and some size/ spacing, etc. discrepancies, I wasn't too sure. Eventually traded the shed which ended up mounted and on the RMEF 2011 Elk Tour as "415 Gross Nevada Sheds" bull.

Here is mine. He was a nearly perfect buck and I wish I had the other side.

Never found the other side or saw the buck again after that winter.

Typical Found him in 2005. Hiked 2 miles every day for 26 days straight to finally pick him up. Scores 213 gross 204 net. I'm sure a few of you have already seen

Non typical. I fed him in my parents back yard in 2003. First nontypical set I found. 185. Laying on top of each other. Was shot the following year and was in trophy hunter mag scoring 214.

This first shed is my favorite because I have history with the deer. I first saw this buck during the 2009 rifle hunt. I would have killed him but he had broke his smaller side completely off. the next year I went back to the same area and hunted him. The 3rd evening of the hunt, I found his shed not far from where I saw him the year before. The very next morning I killed him 300 yards from where I found his shed

LAST EDITED ON Feb-27-14 AT 01:19PM (MST)[p]Quite a history with this bull.
Hunted him for 5 years and when I had about given up he was still alive I found this shed the day before muzz season.
337eastmans6.jpg

Met up with him on the second day of the season and finished my quest.

Not the largest sheds but the most special and meaningful ones for me.
I have 6 other sheds from this same bull found over the years.

Here are my favorites from this past year.
My first ever dropper............never thought it would come on a moose shed.
