Out following a wash, hoping for a shed or two, I encountered this: Momma didn't conceal her little one very well!:)

Cool! I've only seen that once. I was shed hunting and busted up a Doe. She did not want to leave the area, I thought that was kind of unusual. I went to where she was bedded, and saw her fawn laying on the ground. I was with my brother-in-law at the time. Once we saw the fawn, we left immediately. I was pissed that I didn't have my phone or camera with me at the time.

Yeah...this is the second time for me. A few years ago, I was hiking on a trail through tall grass, did like you...busted out a doe. I thought she should have a fawn hidden there somewhere in the tall grass. As I went to continue on the trail, I looked at my feet...and incredibly, I was STRADDLING the fawn! I was so amazed, I fell backward as the fawn jumped up and started emitting cries that sounded like a wounded rabbit! It must have found another hiding spot, I looked around for a few moments, hoping for a picture, but decided to get outta there so momma could come back. It was one of the most memorable of all my outdoor experiences, and I'll never forget!

A couple years ago, me and friend were riding our wheelers behind my house and each of us had a child with us. We saw a doe standing in the road ahead of us, and when she saw us, she started to run all different directions. As we got nearer, we saw her fawn curled up in the middle of the dirt road. Luckily it was a spot in the road that was wider. We each drove very slowly around the fawn, which laid there only a couple feet from our tires. It never even blinked as we drove by.

When we passed, we looked behind us to find the doe had gone back and gave the signal for it to stand up. They left walking away.

It was cool and my kids loved it.

I was walking a boundary fence on my grandads property, it was the 4" squares fence. I must have bumped a doe and fawn at some point and they jumped the fence....the doe made it, the fawn came up a little short got his hind feet caught. So I freed him from the fence and went to drop him on the side of the fence he tried to jump to, would u believe the little bugger gave me both hind feet to the chest as I let him go? Still makes me smile thinkin back on it!

The other fawn story I got a buddy and I were doin some labor day wknd scouting 13yrs ago up in the high country. We'd talked to a sheep herder earlier who told us of some lion problems he was havin. We were goin thru some tall grass aspen stand, I was leadin, my buddy not far behind. I hopped on a log and off the other side and when my buddy stepped off the same log a fawn jumped up from right underneath him! He said all he could think about was the Lions the sheepherder told us about earlier and just knew he was a dead man!
