This is my best antler so far this year, it has a 12" crok screw dropper. This one below is the unique one, it has two droppers. One about 3" and the other about 6"

LAST EDITED ON Mar-26-15 AT 09:45PM (MST)[p]Short, short hike. Like 30 minutes produced these bad boys. First fresh sheds of the year, biggest set ever scoring 356 found by my dad. They were about 20 yards apart. Cool little bit about this bull. My dad saw him feet from our porch one night a few weeks ago.

The fence post picture is a picture of how I carry the horns when I find them. I half hitch them and carry them across my shoulders.

My granddaughter lives in Oakdale, CA and I don't get to see her but a couple of times a year. Earlier this year I took my son and her on an antler hunt, and I fudged a little and planted an antler so she could "find" it, so she thought that was her first antler. Well, her and her Dad were visiting over spring break from school, just riding around looking for a spot to unload the ATV's from the truck, when she spied and retrieved her OFFICIAL first shed antler! (*sorry about the clarity of photos!)

Pile has grown a little: 23 deer antlers ( 4 brown; 1 matched set) and one elk antler as of April 15th.

A matched set 7x7 elk! No rhyme, reason, or plan to my "hunts". Today, I decided to go to an area where I'd seen elk, or heard of elk sighted crossing the road. Very thick trees, not much fresh sign, but a bunch of tattered trees that were signs there had been bulls during the rut. After several hours hiking, I stumbled upon a left side shed. As the thickets were very thick, I thought a search would be nigh impossible, so I just continued on. As I circled and decided to head back to my truck, I paused on a rocky outcrop, looked around a shrub, and was AMAZED to find the very MATCH to the antler I'd found! UNBELIEVABLE LUCK...still find it hard to believe it played out the way it did!

It's amazing how many antlers everyone here finds! We got lucky this year so far, it's the first time I've found sheds while actually looking for them, the first browns, the first set also! I let the kids have the glory on this one though and they were super happy! I wanted to get a good pic as they lay but in their excitement they went and picked them up before I could get the phone out. Super proud of them and I'm going to be putting these on a repro skull and hang it in the living room.

If anyone would be willing to post them for me I have some cool pictures of my 6 year old boys first shed. A big 340 matches set 6 point bull elk. I just can't figure out how to post them. I could text them to you

Brokeneck here on Monster Muleys took his 6 year old son out on an antler hunt with great result! First ever elk sheds were a dandy matched set...and a nice "brownie" 4-pt. muley! The one elk side was a "sticker" As It Lay!

Thank you NVPETE! I'm pet proud of him. Still can't believe this was his first day out. Now I'm trying to find an old bull elk skull, like one that an antler buyer would throw away after sawing off antlers he was buying. Then I want to Euro mount them for my boy.

Look at that grin! Awesome finds! Can't wait till my son is old enough to come out with me. He's only 3 and doesn't last much longer than an hour or so hiking.
