Yearly totals

Just Curious on some of your yearly totals, Best years and average years. If you only picked up 12 that's cool lets hear about it. I honestly have never kept count until this year but previous years have to average around 10-20, that is not great I know but there is a lot of competition out there and I have several other hobbies that take my time. Pictures of yearly total would be cool to see also.

It has changed the last few years for me. When I was a little more casual about shed hunting, 30-40 would be a good year. About 4 years ago I really got serious about shed hunting. I have averaged about 100 per year recently but last year I found 168. I'm at 51 so far this year, I should start finding some elk here in the next few weeks so I should get to 100-125 by the end of the year. I go out probably 50 times a year (some of those are short like 1 hour trips with my kids) but I know guys that are super hardcore, spending every possible moment shed hunting, and they find 300-400 a year but also have not much family life so it really is a balance.

I'm lucky to find 25 in recent years. I have been lucky to have years around 120 and in the 70 to 80 mark.

Things are getting harder with so many looking. My question is what do you do with your horns?

I'm at 76 at the moment. Looking to break 300 before the new year

I started keeping track in 94. Average is a bit better than 300. worst year was 96 when I found 181 and the best was 2001 when I found 530. I probably had some better years in the 80's but I didn't keep track.

Only really got this shed hunting ADDICTION a few yrs. back. Maybe 10 sheds first season; stepped up to about 28 the second season, and have averaged 100-120 the past three seasons. This year I have 20 deer sheds, with two matched sets...and just ONE elk shed.

Sorry Nebo, I forgot to answer your question about what I do with the sheds. I at the moment just collect them, I want to build an archway leading into my Hunting room when I build a new house in a few years. I have a hard time thinking about letting them go.

My brother and I go out together and I think we are sitting at about 45-50 sheds. This has been our best year but I think now after 4 years of searching we have finally figured out where they are dropping them. Most of them are deer maybe 8 elk sheds.
