Finally found my first elk sheds

They are older, but I was so stoked to find these tonight! First elk sheds EVER!





Crazy that the 7-point is just barely bigger than the 5-pt. I wonder if maybe he was a really old bull and was starting to regress in size?



Also found two muleys tonight:



And I'm really hoping DWR lets me keep this one after their investigation. He measures at least 26" wide and has some nice depth in his forks.

Cool finds

Those are some awesome finds..!! Love findin dead heads, though I've never found anything big. It's just cool to see the skull and antlers in an ATL position, out in the woods.

As far as the elk sheds, I'm lookin at them and that 7-point is way, way bigger than that 5-point. Looks to have at least 12" more mass than the 5-point and about 30" of additional tine length...

That's the difference between a 270" 5-point and a 350" trophy bull... Great finds..!!

I just thought the big boy elk antlers would be longer overall....maybe they seem bigger when there is a pair of them mounted to a skull..

It's crazy, I've found five dead heads this spring and only one shed muley antler. Apparently I'm looking in the wrong places...I know I've been putting in the miles....that's for sure.
