Hello Guys,
I'm looking for a nice Elk deadhead for an auction item to raise some money to help disabled veterans for travel expenses to hunting trips in 2017.
I know there is some serious miles put on out scouting the mountains all year and its tough. I'm just trying to get a nice one that could raise some money to get these deserving veterans out into the field and help them transition back into civilian life again. I work with a non-profit organization called Freedom Hunter's (www.freedomhunters.org) and we take out veterans of all branches on hunting, fishing and sporting adventures free of charge to the veteran. Annually we take out about 4,500 vets and would like to take out more and this would help cover some of the expenses we incur. Any and all help would be fantastic and Thank You for your time.

Ive got a nice deadhead. Where would it be auctioned off?

We have several banquets where it can be auctioned off. We can have it auctioned off with RMEF or NNSCI or the Western Hunting Expo in SLC, Utah or the Benelli Shootout Classic. We have alot of places we can have it auctioned off at.

I am located in Reno NV. And please tell me what size shirt you wear and I will get you some of our gear for your support. I can't say Thank You enough for wanting to help our cause.
Last year we raised enough money to take out 4,500 veterans and I want to be over 5,000 for 2017.

Thank You very much for wanting to help us and please let me know if you need help covering the shipping costs I would happily pay that for you.

cheapest would probably driving and meeting up. Old Dominion might be able to on a pallet for a decent price?

Thanks idahaon. I was thinking driving it to meet up would be best myself! since its on the wall as we speak and would hate for it to get messed up. Cmon guys lets get a few more vets out in the field!

Maybe do a Relay Ship with a few MM'ers?

Hey Jeremy,
You let me know what works best and I can do a drive somewhere as well. I am not sure how the shipping would go due to the bulk size of the horns and skull. But I am willing to make a drive and meet up with you and I can fabricate a box or something to transport it back to Reno. I'll be attending the Western Hunting Expo in SLC, Ut this year myself instead of a couple of our other coordinators from the East Coast. I could do a drive and meet and greet if that works too?

I'll check my schedule and see when the Expo starts and let you know. And yeah it gets crazy in there so I know what you mean lol.

I have a dead head I would be willing to part with for this cause! He is not huge, so I don't know if it would interest you or not. I found him about 20 years ago while on a deer hunt. I have never scored him but I would say he is somewhere in the neighborhood of 310".

That would be fantastic. I am trying to get several deadheads so we can raise some money at banquets to help get these veterans out into the field and cover the transportation costs and licenses so the veteran doesn't have any out of pocket expenses just a fun hunt and to relax in the outdoors.

Ok sounds great. I will not be making it down to the expo this year as it is the same weekend as my son's regional wrestling tournament, but I am sure I could find someone that would take it down there for me. Would that work for you James?

James, horn killer is on his way to pick up the dead head as we speak. He will be bringing it down to you along with the one he has. On second look he is not a 310" type bull more like a 270". I hadn't looked at him for years sorry about that. Anyway thank you so much for what you do for our vets! Hope this can help!!
