Did anyone participate in the Jackson Hole shed hunt yesterday?

-I decided to try it for the first time.....& I will never go back!! I have never seen as much pandemonium in my life!!!

How organized was the Jackson law enforcement keeping people from parking along road. How was the parking lots. How many vehicles you estimate? Did you start any fights? Find any anlters on the mountain? Share your experience.

It was not organized at all! Upon arriving in Jackson hole we went to the national forest visitor center and spoke with the forest service about where to park the etc. also we went to the police station and talk to the cops that way we wasn?t doing anything illegal. It seemed that we were the only ones there that followed the rules. It was insane. People were parked/camped along the road,
people were nearly ramming each other to get into line, parking lots were beyond full. Once we finally got parked at our destination the crowd was running everywhere horses and mules were nearly trampling people.

LAST EDITED ON May-02-18 AT 07:10PM (MST)[p]We entered the refuge from Broadway ave. I would estimate somewhere in the ballpark oh 500-600 cars at that location & 1000 people at least!!
-I didn't start no fight, nor did I see any. On the way in saw lots of middle fingers being thrown around & diesel trucks drowning vehicles they were mad at in thick black smoke

I think that would be kind of exciting.. BUT, are there really that many antlers out there to share around? Looks like you had a decent haul but I gotta think with a thousand people that there are plenty that come up empty handed??

I saw a lot of people with 1 & a lot of people empty. I think the snow made it difficult as well as it being dark. Once the sun came up there was only a handful of people in the area I was & I could see a long way! When I got back to where we parked at around 10am there was only like 15 vehicles where there was 500 at the beginning.

OH WOW>. I was wondering what was up with the nighttime pics.. I assume they opened it at midnight? And, why do they do that? Why not just set it at 7 am or something?

And it is that small of an area where guys give up once it's light out because they've walked what they could walk?

Elk a news article said, they busted multiple people with stashes. 500 dollar tresspassing fine and 10.00 a pound for what they had on their back some guys had 50 lbs on the report I saw a wyoming resident posted on his IG.

Infrared Drones..?? First off- that'd be awesome. Second- I can't believe it has come to such a ridiculous state.

I've gone shed hunting. It's a fun 8-11 mile hike in some of my favorite country. I'd never sell anything I find. It's mine. It's part of my outdoor experience. It's priceless.

Selling antlers literally depreciates their true value.

Maybe if your garage was full of bone and your significant other was in your ear, you'd reconsider your last statement. Hahaha. Just having fun with you Browning.
