How was the first weekend for everyone? I saw one small 3X4 and nine does, no shooters. It didn't look like there was any rut activity where I was. Anyone see action?

It was definitely cold enough to get them started! We also just missed a monster tom lion right off the road. I honestly saw more lion tracks than deer in the snow.

Good luck for the next two weeks down there--I'm in a white Toyota Tundra if anyone wants to BS!

we shot two bucks in the mid 90's. you were right, not much for rut activity.

Congrats on a couple nice bucks. Im guessing that second one scored just a bit bigger, he looks real nice!

the second buck did score a bit bigger. real nice basket buck. he was real young with great genetics. if only he made it a couple more years..but it was the hunter's first coues buck..lucky guy. both bucks shot within a quarter mile of each other one day apart. we barely even scratched the surface of that spot.

He did look somewhat young. not the mass of the first buck, and I think your right, another year or two, and that would have been a REAL nice deer. Great first coues!
