unit 27

I lucked out amd drew unit 27 nov14-18 rifle. Our group of three all have tags but never been there. Just looking of a little info about the area. What is the avg buck and a high end buck. What about illegels in the area and camping. Any info on the unit would help.

The draw results are not out yet for deer in AZ so are you talking about Elk....????? Or are you talking NM? As for illegals in unit 27-AZ you have zero issues with that problem in unit 27.......... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

Peoples opinions on Illegal trouble will vary with their personal experiences. I had a doozy on the western edge of NM 27. While sleeping in the back of my truck I awoke to over 20 mexicans surrounding my truck, I mean looking over the edge of the bed. Scared the SH!t outa me at first. I yelled at them to get the hell out here. Two of the 20 were shouting back trying to give me orders. This is when my 1911 colt woke up and joined in the fun. Them sorry SOB's scattered like quail after the first shot into the air. Some of them dumb bastages hit the deck 10 feet from the truck! I kept yelling and they finally left. There is NO DOUBT they were going to hassass or rob me. Sorry suckers....

They would've robbed you at the least. I hate them. I used to never carry a sidearm. Now it's a Beretta 92 just because of that reason.

Congrats man. I drew the Jan. archery hunt and would appreciate any tips on bucks that made it by you. Right now I'm focusing on the Geromino trail area, but there's a long time between now and season for me.
