I drew a December tag in Arizona unit 36c and am planning on taking my wife along for a DIY hunt. Is there still a big problem with illegal aliens in that area and what type of precautions should someone take?

I drew that tag as well Mark. I will let others expand on the subject, but for me, I will set up camp closer to a ranch house and not leave stuff laying around camp..... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

I too drew 36c late my 4th one since 96'. The illegals have always been there and Ive never had a problem. Yes it will piss you off when you see the trash and water bottles in all the canyons, but Ive not been ripped off or threatened in any way. And yes Ive seen the guys with back pacs and dope before. Some times the B.P will get in your way running their quads up and down prime areas but accept it and move to another area. Plus the helicopters at midnight over your tent are kinda cool. With all this said remember to keep your camp to a minimum with most of your valuables with you or locked in your vehicles out of sight. I decided long ago that Pima county probably has some of the best Coues genitics in the world and I can put up with a lot of unfortunate crap to be able to hunt there. Good luck and Ill see you in the Babo's. BH1

Well, you will see them for sure if you spend much time. Never had an issue with them my self. Do know someone who had their water stolen out of camp at night. Stay away from the ones with the big packs!

I carry a big pack. I go in prepared to pack out some meat.
I've never had a problem with illegals. I don't worry about them stealing camp items, but I do worry about them stealing my truck.
