I just returned from my first coues deer hunt here in New Mexico. I had agreat time. I'm still picking mesquite thorns out of my arms and legs, I couldn't believe how rough the country is in southern New Mexico. We glassed up this buck at over 2,000 yards. We got to within 475 yards with about 10 minutes of shooting light left. I think I'm hooked! I know this buck isn't the biggest but I liked his width and I'm proud to of harvested him. Next year I'll go for a bigger one.

Congratulations. Coues deer are addictive. The terrain is really rough which just adds to the alure. Great buck...... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

Oh man! gorgeous first coues'. In my opinion a mature coues' deer is one of the greatest trophies around, you should be very proud.
