I applied for this unit with enough nonresident points that I should draw. Looking for anyone with experience with this unit that would be willing to share.

Thanks
Mike

I hunted this unit last year on left over tag......my buddy and I each took a buck. A lot of private land on west side of unit and a lot of border patrol. 90% of hunters stay within a mile of main roads.....we packed in 3 miles and never saw another hunter. Get a good map, hike in and spend mega time glassing with quality optics and you will do ok......

We hunted First week in November.....weather was nice but bucks only moved for about two hours in morning and last hour before dark.

I hope you are talking about coues deer cause that is what I hunted. I know the do also offer some mule deer tags however we never saw any muley bucks in area we hunted.

Dirtbag and anyone else on here, I am more of a northwest backcountry style hunter, never hunted the open country of the South West. I drew tag for Arizona mule deer unit 29. Here's what I know:

Coues deer are up higher than mule deer. According to F&G muleys hang out lower than 5400'ish in that unit.

Some advice I have received is hunt the rolling edged of the wilderness/public land as elevation decreases.

I really prefer a conversation. Please text or call me anytime at 757-701-6266. I would really appreciate some advice, not looking for any honey hole information just some general advice.

By nature of what I do, long range shots are of no concern pending weather conditions for ethical reasons of course.

Thanks in advance
Joden
