LAST EDITED ON Aug-16-18 AT 05:27PM (MST)[p]I drew a unit 32 coues tag for December this fall , planning on hiking in and lots of glassing. Doesn't appear to be very much public access, any pointers or contact info to gain access through private land or a good starting point would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Just got back from my first Coues hunt.

TAKE A TRIPOD AND ADAPTER FOR YOUR BINOS, you will see 5x more deer.

Good luck. 32 looks like one bad mofo from next door.

I've been doing as much research as possible on the computer, which isn't very much. I have narrowed it down to the southern part of the unit due to access issues. I'm hoping for a good time, see a few deer and check out some new country. It's been in the teens where we live so warmer weather will be nice.
Is the country straight up and down steep or just brushy?
Good luck to everyone else.

From what I can tell, it's very Brushy lower down and very steep up high. Don't get too attached too warm temperatures, it was 50s and 20s at around 5,000 feet elevation.

I hope you have a great hunt... I just got back from AZ with a good friend it's always a good time...

Post up your adventures...

We got a couple, cold and raining probably half the time. Never seen a deer at night or on a cloudy day . Only time we seen any it was sunny in the early morning up until around 11 am. Glassed from daylight to dark every day. About 7 other camps in the area and we were the only ones who seen any decent bucks, the other guys seen a few does. The C.O. in the area stopped by and checked us, super nice guy, said they were both 3.5 yr old bucks. Seen bears , lion and a ton of coyotes. Seen 11 bucks and 3 does during the hunt. I could have shot a couple smaller bucks and I missed 1 nice one around the 5th day.

Fun hunt , I'd probably go give it another shot.

I'll try to figure out how to post a couple pics
