As you may remember starting today we are judging the best Coues picture for January, voice your opinion here. Beto I can't see your picture, can someone attach it ?

I will have to say the B_F_E_ takes the cake with his picture of the five racks all lined up vertically.
If that picture doesent count I am gonna have to go with Beto's picture, he got a dang nice buck and really nice picture (background and all) especially knowing that he was alone trying to take the photo.

Out of these pics, I LOVE the spectacular picture of Lien2's. Incredible buck, and amazing scenery....

That said though, I think my vote would have to go with D13er. Those back forks are DEEEEEP!!! Any other pics D13er?

Lien2 for overall picture. D13er for big buck.

don't know if this fits within the contest guidlines or not, but this is my dad's coues from either '85 or '86. if i remember correctly, it scored 117". that's my dad on the right, and his friend dave on the left.

I vote for Lien 2's picture. No blood, no tongue. Hunter is low/even with deer so as to not take focus away from the deer. Color and lighting is good, with fill-flash used to get rid of shadows. The only negative is the green bush behind the deer's head that distracts from seeing the antlers clearly.
Choice # 2 is Beto, but I would prefer Beto to sit (not kneel) behind the deer's body so the antlers are against the sky and not his chest. Good positioning of the deer's body sideways, full body visible and legs are folded. Foreground is not distracting. Good, low camera angle.

Overall Id have to vote for lien2's nice deer and great scenery.
But there should be a seperate vote for archery. Since I havent gotten any votes.

I want to know if we are voting for the buck or the picture? I thought it was supposed to be the picture, and if that is the case then there is absolutley no comparison between lien2 and D13. Almost all the pics are better than D13, but as for the buck it is no contest that his is the best. Not trying to start any crazy MM arguements just wondering which is it?

Bowhuntnut, the idea was for best picture & so the tally is;

Lien2 = 4
D13 = 4
BFE = 1

Also Bowhuntnut, Don't worry bout starting up more crazy arguments around here, those are the fun reads during the winter months that keep us entertained. :7

Muchas gracias for the photo's everyone, a fine collection of Coues indeed, someone has to get a hat so it might as well be lien2 it was a dead even contest so I cast my vote his way.

Send me a PM Lien & I'll put it in the mail, happy hunting all, maybe next year we can give out a gun or a truck or something like that
