Any of you mexico hunters know anything about the El Campo outfits high fence area in Sonora?? Doesn't sound good at all.

are you talking about fencing in it doesnt work a ranch we were hunting tried it the lions had a field day from what I understand i guess the fence was not high enough!CM

A couple friends hunted with Elcampo this year and were shocked to be camped next to a 5000 acre high fence with coues, mule deer and desert bighorns inside. The enclosure was eaten to the dirt and they were feeding farm scraps to the deer. Sounds like a real bad deal starting up in Mexico.

I haven't been to El Campos camp, but know the area, the terrain is desertic and doesn't grow a bush if it wasn't planted, that might give the impression that it was eaten.
I have a desert sheep area that is hi fenced, I didn't intend to have coues deer, but when we closed the area some stayed there maybe 3 or 4 deer and now I have about 9 deer. Really hard to take a look at them.
BFE did you hunt el salado this past season, I go there all the time, I might go in the next couple of weeks to hunt exotics, we already killed an eland last november, el salado terrain is also really desertic, there isn't a bush in some areas and it doesn't even had any cattle.

Yes we are related, most of the Tapia families in Sonora are, if you hunted his ranch mine is east of his, where a big hill is. Many years ago the ranch was 72,000 hectars, and it has been divided on to the new generations.
BFE I dont know how is the biologist now, because they didn't hunt the ranch the past 3 seasons, this past season I think they did. But Ariel isnt living in hermosillo so his younger brothers are the one's taking care.
